Handmade Kitchens

In the world we live in today, automation seems to be key to everything that is produced. We at Creative Cabinets try to keep production methods as traditional as possible. The nature of what we do doesn’t allow mass production as every piece of furniture or kitchen unit is made as a one off, making your cabinets totally unique.

All units are manufactured using traditional methods. Mortice & Tenon joints are used on all unit frames and doors and Dovetail joints can be used on drawer boxes if specified. You won’t find any plastic legs on our cabinets. When the units are installed, they are levelled and scribed to the floor for a perfect fit. This provides more stability for all units, especially when carrying heavy granite worksurfaces. Traditional production methods are complimented by modern day enhancements such as soft close drawer runners, intergrated appliances and mood lighting.

Unit frames and doors for painted finishes are made from Tulip wood (Poplar) as standard, and any hardwoods can be used for a stained or natural finish to create a natural look. Internally, the choice of material used is up to you. These are generally made from a solid wood veneer such as Oak, Walnut, Ash, etc, but you can also have solid wood interiors if you prefer.

If you are going for a painted finish, all units are finished with a hand painted matt enamel paint which you can wipe down easily and can be repaired very simply if scuffed. Any colour can be used, but we generally work with Farrow & Ball colours. If you are going for a natural wood look, a sprayed finish is applied.
